Rhonald and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary this past March. One thing we decided we wanted to do was take a trip together...just us...something we have not done since we went on our honeymoon! After researching and researching we decided on a Sandals resort in Negril, Jamaica. I have never been more anxious about anything in my life! I was so excited to be spending 6 days alone with my husband but I was so nervous to leave my kids for that long (and be so far away). I really prayed about this because the nervousness I was feeling about leaving was really taking away from the joy we had over going. God proved faithful and removed that nervousness from my heart about a week before we left and then all I could feel was excitement! It was fabulous to have that time together - to reflect on the past 10 years....to dream about the next 10 and to simply relax and hang out together. We read books under umbrellas and stared at the ocean quietly, we had room service over and over on our patio ON THE BEACH, we ate yummy meals, we kayaked in the ocean...we simply enjoyed being together and enjoyed making memories just the two of us. I will say that I could not have made it through our trip if we hadn't had a free international texting app so my mom could text pictures and updates on the kids. It was so much easier to enjoy our time knowing they were enjoying theirs as well. It was a wonderful experience for all of us and I have to say, I am already excited to do it again! Ha! I never thought I would say that. It was perfect and I am so thankful we were able to do it. Here's to another great 10 years, babe!
