My Little Mr. Fix It

Cole is in to all things boy right now and playing with tools are at the top of his list! He will fix anything and everything. He loves Bob the Builder and Handy Manny. Cole is so into trucks - I swear he came name every kind of work truck there is. A few more fun facts about Cole...His favorite movie is Cars (he could watch it non stop all day). He is FULL of questions and is so very curious it tends to wear us out even though we love it. He loves to hug and tell us "Love you me too." He will eat anything but still really loves pasta, fruit and veggies...especially his "paw paw's peas" that he helped pick from the garden this summer. Cole loves art and building. He loves to sing. Cole loves going to his school on Monday and Wednesday. He knows all of his colors and his alphabet. He can count to 12. He wears 2T clothes. Cole loves to be outside more than anything. He has all but 2 teeth. He loves trains and animals so much too! Cole is very excited to be a big brother. He reads to the baby almost every day, he tries to give the baby drinks of his juice and he swears up and down that the baby is a girl! More than anything though, we are so proud of Cole's sweet heart. He loves to pray and is pretty good about sharing. He simply loves life and loves other people. Cole is so tenderhearted and always wants to comfort those around him that are upset or hurting. We love him so very much - we are so glad to be his mommy and daddy!

Lucky Number 7

On March 15, 2010 Rhonald and I celebrated our 7th anniversary! The past 7 years have been amazing and fun and I am so thrilled to be married to this wonderful man! With a baby on the way we really wanted to take some time to be together just the 2 of us for the weekend. You know, have a little rest and relaxation. My parents were nice enough to come over and spend the week with us and watch Cole over the weekend while Rhonald and I went to Big Cedar Lodge. We had a great week - we celebrated my mom's birthday, played at the park and the mall and spent lots of time enjoying each other. Friday Rhonald and I headed to Branson for our weekend getaway. We stopped in Rogers at the hospital to pick up a few things and got to take another peak at our sweet little one. He/she had grown so much and was kicking and punching all over the place. What a wonderful way to start our weekend! Once we got to Branson we did some shopping of course! The weather was horrible...rainy and cold...so once we checked in to our room we hardly ever left. Seriously, we only left to eat and to check out more movies from the front desk. It was so relaxing and so much fun! We could not remember the last time we just did, well, nothing all day! Our room was awesome...it even had a stone fireplace which we used all of the time! We could not have asked for a more perfect weekend - I hope we can do it at least one more time before our little peanut arrives. It was so nice to reconnect and just hang out together! And, in case you were wondering, Cole had a total blast as well - his weekend was full of trips to the pet store, the train store and the book store. All of his favorites!

Spring Glorious Spring

The weather has been WONDERFUL the past several days and we have taken full advantage of it! Cole and I have had park play dates for the past 3 days with different sets of friends and it has been heavenly. I knew we had cabin fever I just did not realize how bad it was until we were able to get outside. It has been so nice to let Cole get out and run and play as much as he wants. I know he loves it so much too. In fact, he woke up at 5:20 this morning and said "I go to the park. I see Katie and Jacob." I had made the mistake of telling him before bed that we would be seeing them at the park today...I won't do that again! The first day we were able to get out Cole ran around the park yelling "I so happy Mama!" and I wanted to join him....I was so happy too! I have loved playing with him outside even more this year than last year. I was amazed to see him do things at the park this week that he could not, or would not, do last year. He has grown up so much. He loves to throw a football and kick a soccer ball. He still loves the sand and swings and slides but this year he can go down all of the slides by himself. Wow - what a difference a year makes! I pray this weather sticks around...I think we could really get used to being outside every day again.

Cole has been struggling with what seems like a never ending ear infection since Halloween. I mean, seriously, this kid was hardly ever sick until Halloween and then boom - ear infection after ear infection! We were finally able to take Cole to see an ENT doctor on Monday and he insisted that Cole have tubes placed in his ears (something we both figured he needed and we wanted). I assumed we would have to wait several weeks to have the procedure done so you can imagine how shocked I was when Dr. Manning said he wanted to do the surgery tomorrow! He said he was really worried about Cole's right ear drum rupturing since it was the most infected and had been that way the longest. So...we ran home to get last minute things done and get to bed early (we had to be up by 5 am). Rhonald was able to get some of his morning covered and I was able to get insurance stuff squared away in a very short amount of time. This morning we headed up to the hospital which was not as big of an ordeal as I imagined it would be. Cole had fun waiting and playing. There were only 2 things that he really did not like at all...his hospital ID band and putting on the hospital gown. Once we tackled those things it was smooth sailing. They took Cole back to surgery around 8 am and he was back in my arms by 8:25 am. Handing him over to the OR nurse was a horrible feeling but I know he needed this done so badly. He recovered well and we were able to take him home around 9:30. After a morning of sleeping in mom and dad's bed he is up, talking, playing and eating like normal! What a relief!!!! We are so thankful things went so well and that, hopefully, our little guy will not have any more trouble with his silly little ears!
