Meet Cooper Searcy

For 2 years Cole has been asking for a Golden Retriever puppy named Cooper.  We kept saying we would talk about it once he was 6.  Well, he will be 6 in January and we decided that really, we all wanted a puppy named Cooper, and so our adventure began.  We brought our sweet boy home last weekend and he has been the perfect fit for our family.  He is so much fun!  So sweet, so smart and very playful.  The kids love him just as much as Rhonald and I do.  Cole loves to play with him and Lily Kate loves caring for him.  She feeds him and walks him and takes him outside. Lily hasn't ever had a pet so she was a little scared at first but she has totally warmed up to him and I can see that they are already good buddies.  Puppy life is no joke and he keeps us on our toes but we are having fun and loving every minute with our new companion.

Happy Halloween 2013

Halloween was such a busy day for us!  We started the morning with a Book Character parade at Cole's school...he dressed as Harry Potter.  In the afternoon I headed over to Cole's school for his classroom Halloween party while Rhonald picked up Lily Kate and took her on a Sonic date.  Then we came to rest a bit and headed to the Burrow house for pizza and trick or treating.  Whew!!!  It was so fun though!  Every year our trick or treating group gets bigger and bigger.  This year was the first year that all of the little kids really got into it so we kind of split up into 2 groups...the big, fast running kids and then the smaller, slower kiddos.  It was so much fun to watch both groups enjoy their night!  I cherish these memories and these group nights with all of our friends.  It is such a blessing to go through life with such great friends.

Cole's Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

One of the reasons that I am thankful for being a stay at home mom is that I am able to be involved in Cole's school.  I help in his class, help with parties and I got to chaperon my first Kindergarten field trip!  Last week we made our way to a local pumpkin patch for a day packed full of fun!  There were games, food, hay rides, pumpkin picking....a kids' dream come true.  It was so cold that day and we were going to be out there all morning so my sweet friend, Keisha, kept Lily Kate for me.  I am so thankful for that and for some one on one time with Cole.  He kept saying, "I love that it is just me and you Mom!" and "Thank you for coming Mom!"  I was kind of shocked that he even cared but he did...a lot and I am so glad that I got to go with him.  It is so fun to get to know these new kiddos and see who is around all day at school.  He is growing up so fast and I am so happy that I get to be apart of so much of that, even when he is busy in school.
