My Sweet, Sweet Boy

Cole and Rhonald have felt a little under the weather for a couple of days but after a wonderful night's sleep and a little Tylenol Cole was ready to play! I caught these 2 cute photos this morning after he woke up (at 8:30 am I might add). He is so funny and so full of personality! I hope that you enjoy the pictures as much as I do!!!

Learning To Eat Off Of A Plate

It seems like each and every day holds something new at our house these days! Cole has a bit of a cold so we have stayed inside all day. I thought I would introduce something new and fun at dinner to change things up a bit. I usually place Cole's food on his tray but tonight we used a plate and wow - he loved it! He clapped and laughed all through dinner. It was so much fun to see him trying it out. I am a little disappointed in the plates that I have. They advertise that they stick to the table...well, not the case as he was able to throw the plate on the floor when dinner was over! Oh well...just one more mess to clean up at the end of the day.

A Boy On The Move

Cole loves to "love" Mason. He hugs Mason at least 10 times a day. Mason is so very patient with him but, as you can see from his face, he gets a little worn out by bedtime. When we come out of Cole's room for putting him to bed Mason is usually passed out on the couch!

Looks just like an old man reading the paper doesn't he?

Well, I have noticed that I hardly post anything anymore and I started to think about why that is....then, as I sat back and watched Cole for a minute, I understood why! It is nearly impossible to get a picture of a kid who is always on the move!!!! Here are a few shots I was able to capture tonight before bedtime. Cole is so much fun - I cannot tell you that enough! Rhonald and I have been so blessed by him and are learning so much from him every day. I love staying home with him more each and every day too. I believe that being a stay at home mom is what I was called to do and I am LOVING it! There is not much new to tell....we are staying very busy and having lots and lots of fun. Rhonald is working hard for us and we appreciate that so much. We have a new tradition of visiting him at work (with Starbucks in hand) after our morning Gymboree class each week. It is a nice break in the day for all of us! Cole is working on being a one nap a day kid. I love the one nap schedule. I was nervous about it but it is so much nicer. I say working on it because there have been a couple of days lately that he has taken 2 naps but for about 3 weeks now most days there is only one. Like I said...there are not many new things going on right now but we are doing well and I promise to update more often!

A Funny Story

Cole has been having a hard time with separation lately. He does not like when either Rhonald or I leave him - even if the other one is there. He even has started getting anxious when we go in a room and close the door. He does not mind, however, if we drop him off somewhere (like the church nursery)....that is ok for whatever reason. Anyway...on to my story. I have been trying to communicate with him more about leaving and coming back (not that is seems to help but it makes me feel better). He was happily looking out the window pointing at trees and cars and people and I told him, "mommy is going to go potty and I will be right back." He quickly ran off behind me and then started banging on the door. I opened it (since I had just gotten in there) and my son, the sweet boy that he is, handed me his Old McDonald book and then ran away to look out the window again. I have no idea how he made that connection but it was super funny!!!!!

Cole's First Trip To The Library And More...

Pushing his lawn mower...EVERYWHERE! This is a great gift for someone that you don't like because kids love it and it is VERY, VERY loud!

What a happy boy! We love that smile so much!!!!

Cole got a "Lots of kisses" Elmo for Valentine's Day and he really likes it. If we ask him "Where is Elmo?" he knows exactly who we are talking about! He has even learned how to make Elmo blow kisses.

Playing paper airplanes with daddy - in the middle of mommy's laundry folding! Man, this kid loves playing paper airplanes...I think they played for about 30 minutes. It seems daddy loves playing with them as well!

I mentioned before how much Cole loves the bathroom. Well, here is proof! Before his bath the other day he found the plunger and LOVED it! We have to really watch him because every time we are in the bathroom he wants to play with it. Why have we bought him so many toys????

Lately Cole really wants to carry around a bag - any kind will do - and put anything and everything in to it. This day he was filling his shopping bag with his balls. It keeps him so busy! He is learning how to put things away and enjoys helping us clean up so this actually has been good practice. Another thing he has learned and loves to do is recycle! If we hand him a box and say "Help me carry this to the recycle bin." he heads right for the garage. When we open the door he walks in and puts his item in to the recycle bin! It is so precious!

Since Cole seems to have dropped his morning nap (no morning nap in almost 2 weeks) we are trying to find new things to do in the morning. Today we met Miss Marla, Owen and Mya at the Rogers Library before our Tuesday playgroup. It was Cole's first time to go to the library and he loved it! I know we will be going a lot more often!!! He played with puzzles, games and lots of books. It was so sweet to watch him look at all of the millions of books....his eyes were so big! It was almost like he was in a candy store! I can't wait to take him back!!!!

13 Months and Counting

Having fun and being silly after dinner!

We used to have cute decorations on this shelf in our kitchen, however, we quickly learned that Cole loved to take everything off of it and drop it on the floor. Now we have baskets of toys and books there. Cole removed the baskets from the 2nd shelf (as he does every morning) and used it as a table to read his books. He is so sweet!

Cole loves to pull this doggie pull toy around that my mom gave him. He takes it everywhere! If you ask him where his doggie is he will point to it. I don't think he realizes Mason is a doggie too. He will only point to Mason if we ask him "where Mason is."

Being silly...once again...playing with Daddy's hat! He loves doing anything and everything that Rhonald does!

It's Been Awhile....

Well, I know I have been a horrible blogger lately and I have no excuses! I also have not taken many pictures lately so I thought I would just share a list of a few things that have been going on with us this past week!

---Cole is walking everywhere and wants to be outside 24/7. It has been in the 50-60's for the past few days so we have taken full advantage! We have been on many, many walks...both where he rides in the stroller and where he walks along too. He has learned that if he wants Mason to go he has to ride b/c Mommy can't quite handle both of them at once. Today we went to the park and he played on the play equipment and also got to pet many different dogs. Cole really liked the slide. He loved every minute of playing at the park and even fell asleep on the way home.

---Rhonald was back to work as usual this week and that was both nice and sad. Monday and Tuesday Cole cried when he left for work which broke Rhonald's heart. Things are back to normal now though and that is nice for everyone.

---Cole and I had our first Kindermusik class on Thursday night and had so much fun! It is more of a music class than our Gymboree class (that is more physical I guess you could say). Cole had a great time and spent some of the class in the teacher, Miss Ruth's, lap. He had a smile on his face the whole time and has really liked listening to the Cd she gave us this weekend.

---When we say "It is time for your bath." Cole walks right to the bathroom, stands by the tub and holds his arms up for us to take his clothes off! It is so funny!!!! He is becoming a big helper. When I take Mason's bowl to the kitchen to fill it with water Cole brings his food bowl in too. He likes to pick things up and hand them to us...unless he sees that we really want it and then it becomes a game of keep away. He also loves the toilet and the toilet paper. We have to watch him so much b/c he will splash in the water and trail paper throughout the house!

---I just found that Cole is getting his top 2 molars...ouch! Poor thing...I know we need teeth but why in the world do they have to hurt so much when they come in?!

---We had a great time Saturday hanging out with friends and I also had some alone time Wednesday thanks to Miss Amy! I was able to do some shopping and go to the scrapbook store all alone which was great! That is not a place for a toddler I have learned.

Well, that is our week in a nutshell. I will take more photos soon!
