My Littlest Garden Helper

I know everyone is sick of hearing about our garden so i won't go into detail there except to say that it is producing veggies like crazy!  Cole was always the big garden helper (watering, planting, picking) until recently when Lily Kate took an interest.  She became obsessed with the pepper plants when they began producing an enormous amount of peppers.  She wanted to touch them, search for them and, of course, pick them.  She has learned that she only gets to pick something when she has permission but once she gets that permission she is unstoppable!  Yesterday evening we had so much fun running around the backyard playing in the garden together.  Lily is really growing in to such a sweet and fun little girl!

Time With My Little One

This week Cole was invited to attend VBS with his buddy, Jackson.  It is 4 days this week from 9-2 so that left lots of time for Lily and I to hang out and have some one on one time, something we rarely get.  The first couple of days we ran errands and played at home, getting lots of things done.  Yesterday, however, we decided we needed to have some fun - 2 year old style!  We met up with the Stearle's and the Porter's and some other Mother's Day Out friends for some much needed play time at Little Giggles.  What a fun place for a toddler!!!!  The kids played so well and had so much fun together running and jumping and bouncing!  I think it was one of the first play dates just for Lily Kate...no big boys running around playing Super Hero's.  While we love that time too it was nice to see her with kids her age playing her heart out.  It made me think of this fall....Kindergarten begins in August...and while I know we will miss Cole terribly (like, I don't even want to think about it) I am looking forward to having some great alone time with my little girl.

Happy 4th of July

Last Sunday we spent the a wonderful evening with friends!  We all met for a yummy pizza dinner and then headed out to watch the firework show that our church put on.  We love these friends and we had a fabulous time hanging out and celebrating with them!

Brother Teaching Sister

Today has been a day where we have talked about the past a lot.  We played at a park this morning where I used to take Cole when he was a baby.  Being there, with the kids, sparked so many memories that I loved sharing with him and he loved hearing.  We walked and talked and kept on talking on our drive home.  As Lily napped and Cole and I were watching TV a commercial for Thomas the Train came on.  I smiled and reminded him how obsessed he had been with Thomas as a little guy...we talked and laughed about it and then we decided to build a track.  The first since Lily has been born.  It was so much fun and it was so neat to watch Cole teach her about the trains and how to use all of the track parts.  Oh, what wonderful memories.
